MC1R

Nick Jonath, also known as MC1R, Cortin, Spherenwandler and tEuTon, is an industrial and EBM project that was born in 1994 when Jonath first purchased and began experimenting with electronic sound generators. Inspired by a newspaper article about the MC1R gene, which is only found in redheads, Jonath chose the name MC1R for his project. In 1999 Jonath moved to Erfurt, Thuringia and in 2005 to Essen, Pottländ. Over the years, Jonath has released several albums, participated in various remix and compilation projects and played live. In 2010, Jonath co-founded the Sphere Shifter project with a focus on soundtracks, film music, electronica, IDM and ambient genres. Jonath is currently working on new MC1R material, but first he will release the new “tEuToNical Visions” CD.
